1. Never smoke or bring open flame near battery caps, otherwise an explosion may occur.
2. Never disconnect the battery cable in order to stop the engine.
3. To disconnect the electrical system, disconnect the negative battery cable. When disconnecting both wires, always disconnect the negative wire first, then the positive wire.
4. When starting the car by pushing or from another battery, make sure that the wires from the other battery are connected positive to positive and negative to negative.
5. Always disconnect the battery before performing any work using electric welding.

6. Remember that the electrolyte in the battery can cause corrosion. When adding electrolyte, neutralize it immediately. Wash electrolyte from skin or clothing with plenty of cold water; seek medical attention if electrolyte gets into eyes or mouth.
