Front Door Inner Trim Panel — removal and installation (VW Lt 28)

1. Open the door and unscrew and remove the door lock plunger handle (see photo 8.1).

2. Remove the plastic cover. From the window lift handle, unscrew the mounting screw and remove the handle (see photos 6.2a and b).

3. Pry and remove the small panels from the armrest/door handle and unscrew the mounting screws (see photo 8.3).

4. Pry and remove the trim from the inside door lock handle to gain access to the mounting screw. Unscrew the screw and remove the handle (see photos 8.4a and b).

5. Insert your fingers or a wide screwdriver between the edge of the trim panel and pry the panel to release the retaining clips (see photo 8.5).

6. Remove the panel and carefully detach the waterproof screen (see photo 8.6).

7. Reinstallation is accomplished by following the above steps in reverse order, but insert the foil sections of the waterproof screen into the door openings as shown in Figure 12.16.
