Pressing on the clutch and hub of the synchronizer for 1st and 2nd gears (VW Caddy 3)

Turn the synchronizer locking ring so that the grooves are opposite the crackers.

Mounting position of the 2nd gear synchronizer intermediate ring

It is installed with projections (arrows) towards the 1st gear pinion (A).

Mounting position of the inner synchronizer ring (A) of the 2nd gear

The projections (arrows 1) enter the grooves (arrows 2) of the blocking (outer) ring (B).

Mounting position of the 2nd gear freely rotating on the shaft

It is installed with the large flange (A) towards the 1st gear pinion (B). The projections of the intermediate synchronizer ring must fit into the grooves of the flange (arrows).

Checking the wear of the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizer locking rings

Install the locking ring on the conical part of the gear and measure the gap "a" using a feeler gauge.
