Removal



1. Remove the gearbox.

2. Remove the flywheel.

3. Remove the oil pan.

3. Remove the oil pan.


4. Unscrew the cover mounting screws (arrows).

Installation



Caution: Do not lubricate the seal lip.


1. Clean and degrease the mating surfaces. There should be no traces of oil left on them.

2. Clean the surface of the crankshaft journal from oil by wiping it with a clean rag.

3. Insert the mounting bushings one into the other.

4. Place the cover (A) onto the mounting bushings (1, 2) with the outer side forward.

5. Remove the inner mounting sleeve.

5. Remove the inner mounting sleeve.


6. Place the cover (A) with the mounting sleeve installed in it onto the crankshaft and place the cover with the sleeve onto the crankshaft journal.

7. Tighten the cover mounting screws to a torque of 15 Nm (figure VC2.142).

8. Install the oil pan.

Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
