The engine management system regulates fuel distribution and coordinates the operation of the ignition system. Advantages of the electronic engine management system:
  • Precise dosing of the amount of fuel at each load mode, resulting in low fuel consumption with a good power balance.
  • Reduction of harmful components in exhaust gases thanks to precise fuel dosing and the use of an adjustable catalytic converter.
  • Self-diagnosis of the injection system control unit, which allows for quick detection of defects. The engine management system is equipped with a fault code memory device. If defects occur during operation, the corresponding codes are recorded in the memory device. If the engine does not operate perfectly, to avoid unnecessary expenses, you should print out the fault codes at the service station, so that you can then, if necessary, eliminate the existing defects yourself.

The engine control unit is a small, high-performance computer. It calculates the optimal ignition timing, fuel injection timing, and the amount of fuel injected. At the same time, the control unit is coordinated with other vehicle systems, such as the transmission control system or the anti-theft system.

The ignition and injection system components operate reliably for a long time and require virtually no maintenance. The exceptions are the replaceable air filter element and the spark plugs, which must be replaced as part of maintenance. Important adjustment and repair work is carried out only with expensive measuring instruments, so this work can only be carried out at appropriately equipped service stations.
