Steering gear/steering rods/corrugated boots/wiring diagram (VW Polo 4)

1 - right steering rod end
Before installation, remove grease from the ball joint cone pin.

2 - lock nut, 50 Nm

3 - tape spring clamp
Removal and installation must be performed using assembly pliers.

4 - corrugated cover
Replacement is only possible after dismantling the steering gear. Check for cuts and cracks.

5 - terminal clamp
Replace after each dismantling.

6 - seal

7 — M8 bolts
Self-locking bolts for fixing the heat shield.

8 - heat shield

9 — steering rod
The tightening torque for the connection to the toothed rack is 80 Nm.

10 — clamp
Installation position: the font must be facing the direction of vehicle movement.

11 - rubber insert
Mounting position: Largest inner diameter should be on the outside of the vehicle.

14 — power steering sensor

15 - screws, 6 Nm

16 — left steering rod end
