POLO, 3-door model

There are 2 types of tensioners: an electric tensioner for vehicles with a side airbag and a mechanical tensioner for vehicles without a side airbag.

9 - Front seat belt lock IBIZA, 3-door model
The body structure of the IBIZA is similar. However, the seat belt tensioner mechanism is attached to the B pillar from above with a nut "4".
Note: on the 5-door model, the seat belt at the bottom is not attached to the guide bracket "8", but with a bolt through the eye to the body.
Removal
Electric seat belt tensioner: Disconnect the ground (-) cable from the battery.

Attention: Follow the instructions in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".
Remove the threshold trim, see the relevant chapter above.
3-door model: remove the rear side trim, see the relevant chapter above.
Remove the upper trim of the B-pillar, see the relevant chapter above.
5-door model: remove the lower trim of the B-pillar, see the relevant chapter above.
3-door model: remove the front seat belt guide bracket "8" and remove the seat belt from it, see the relevant chapter below.
5-door model: remove the front seat belt eyelet, see the relevant chapter below.
Pull the seat belt out through the seat belt height adjustment mechanism opening in the upper B-pillar trim.
Unscrew bolts "2" and remove guide eye "3".
Loosen the fastening of the belt guide "6" to the B-pillar.
Unscrew bolts "4" and "7" and remove the seat belt together with the tensioner mechanism from the B-pillar.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order. In this case, tighten bolts "7" and "2" to a torque of 40 Nm, and tighten bolt "4" to a torque of 8 Nm.
Check the operation of the seat belt height adjustment mechanism.
Only IBIZA
Removing and installing the seat belt on an IBIZA is, in principle, done in the same way as on a POLO.
