1. Remove the air filter.
2. Remove the spark plugs.
3. Disconnect the Hall sensor wiring connector.
4. With the help of a second mechanic, press the accelerator pedal all the way down.
5. Check the compression using the VAG 1381 or VAG 1763 tester.
Compression of a new AFT, ADZ engine: 10-13 bar, permissible wear: 7.5 bar.
Compression of a new 1F engine: 9-12 bar, permissible wear: 7 bar.
Permissible difference between cylinders: 3 bar.
