Removal and installation of the cooling pump (VW Transporter T3)

Dismantling

Drain and assemble the coolant.

Remove the cooling pump V-belt.

Remove the generator, see. "Dismantling and installation of the generator".

Remove the generator mount.

Disconnect the pump from ground.

Remove the pump together with the housing.

Unscrew the pump from the housing.

Installation

Check the cooling pump for ease of movement; replace the pump if necessary.

When installing the pump into the housing, use new paper seals.

When installing the pump on the engine body, use new rubber seals.

Secure the pump and generator holder to the engine body using common bolts.

Connect the pump to ground.

Secure the generator holder at the top.

Install the generator, tighten the V-belt, see. "V-belt tension".

Install the pump V-belt and tighten it.

Fill with coolant.

After a test run, check all hose connections and tighten clamps if necessary.
