Compass setup and calibration

If the car is equipped with a standard navigation system, compass calibration is not required. The corresponding Compass item is not available in the menu.

On a vehicle without a standard navigation system, the compass is constantly calibrated automatically. After retrofitting the vehicle with electrical or metal devices (mobile phone, TV tuner, etc.) the compass must be calibrated manually.

Setting the compass zone

  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Select the Settings menu, then Compass and Zone.
  • Select the compass system zone according to your current location.
  • Set the zone (1-15) and confirm the setting.

Compass calibration

Conditions for proper calibration: correctly set zone and enough space to move in a circle.
  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Select the Settings menu, then Compass and Calibration.
  • Confirm the message Drive a full lap to calibrate by selecting (OK), then drive one full lap at about 10 km/h (6 mph).

Calibration is successful if the compass icon is shown on the display.
