The fan housing is shown in the figure 9.76.

Removal the fan housing
1. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
2. Remove clamp 2 and disconnect air pipe 3. Open the clamps (arrows) and remove air filter cover 1 (figure 9.77).

3. Unscrew the mounting nuts (arrows) of the exhaust gas recirculation valve bracket and the boost pressure limiting electromagnetic valve 1 (figure 9.78).

4. Unscrew the nuts and washers (arrows) (figure 9.79). Move fan housing 1 forward.

5. Disconnect the two wiring connectors behind the fan housing (arrow) (figure 9.80).

6. Disconnect the wiring connectors (arrows) from the fan resistor 1 (figure 9.81).

7. Disconnect the vacuum tube 1 from the two-way valve for the fresh and recirculated air supply control flap 2 (figure 9.82).

8. Remove the fan housing from the engine compartment.
Installation
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
