Job Description
The secondary air supply system is activated briefly when starting a cold engine and forces atmospheric air into the exhaust tract. This enriches the exhaust gas with oxygen, ensuring the afterburning of unburned hydrocarbons and accelerated heating of the catalyst.
List of parts and assemblies of the secondary air supply system with technological notes on repair for the BGU engine to figure VC2.231:
1 Combination valve.
2. EGR valve mounting screw: 25 Nm.
3. EGR valve (N18) with EGR potentiometer (G212).
4. Valve bracket mounting screw: 10 Nm.
5. Sealing ring.
6. Pressure hose:
- to unlock, squeeze the ring.
7. Secondary air pump inlet duct.
8. Direction to the air filter.
9. Secondary air pump electric motor (V101).
10. 2-pin connector.
11. Pump mounting nut to bracket: 10 Nm.
12. Engine bracket mounting screw: 25 Nm.
13. Engine bracket mounting screw: 15 Nm.
14. Secondary air pump motor bracket (V101):
- installed on the intake manifold.
15. Lower part of the intake manifold.
16. Combination valve mounting screw: 10 Nm.
17. Gasket:
- replace with a new one during assembly.
18. Connecting pipe of the combination valve.
