Removal
1. Remove the wheel.
2. Clean the steering gear in the area of the steering rod boot.
3. Disconnect the compression and spring clamps of the steering rod boot and slide it back.
4. Remove the end from the rod; while loosening the lock nut, hold the end of the steering rod with a wrench.
5. Unscrew the steering rod from the steering rack.
Installation
1. Install the steering rod and tighten it to a torque of 100 Nm.
2. Check the cleanliness of the sealing surfaces and the boot for damage.
3. Install the boot and tighten the clamps.
4. Install the tie rod end onto the tie rod.

5. Connect the steering tip to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to a torque of 20 Nm + 90°.
6. Check the wheel alignment angles and adjust the steering rod length if necessary.
7. Holding the tie rod end with a wrench, tighten the lock nut to a torque of 55 Nm.
