Caution: Depending on the radio version, before disconnecting the battery, make sure you have the radio code. If the code is unknown, the radio can only be reconnected at a VW service station or via the manufacturer. The code number is listed in the radio operating manual. This code must not be stored in the vehicle.
The VW beta and gamma radio systems are coded via the instrument cluster. Therefore, when disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply, as well as when removing and installing the radio itself, it is not necessary to enter the security code.

The factory installed radio is equipped with a mount with guides that allow for quick installation and removal of the radio. First of all, two VW-3316 pullers are required for this.

After entering the complete code number, press the TP and TA buttons simultaneously again until the message "SAFE" appears on the display. Release the buttons. The receiver is now ready for operation again; when the ignition key is removed, the LED next to the radio name should flash.
Note: If an incorrect code number is entered by mistake, the "SAFE" message will flash and then stop. The entire process of entering the code number can then be repeated once. If an incorrect code number is entered again, the radio will be blocked for approximately one hour and will not be able to be connected. After one hour - the receiver must remain switched on - an attempt can be made to remove the electronic blocking again by entering the correct code number. This cycle will be repeated for all subsequent attempts.
