Attention: Depending on the version of the radio, before disconnecting the battery, make sure you have the radio code at your disposal. If the code is unknown, then the radio can only be connected again by a workshop for VW vehicles or through the manufacturer. The code number can be found in the radio manual. This code must not be stored in the vehicle.
The VW beta and gamma radio systems are coded via the instrument cluster. Therefore, when disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply, as well as when removing and installing the radio itself, it is not necessary to enter the security code.
The factory-installed radio is equipped with a rail mount that allows quick installation and removal of the radio. First of all, this requires two VW-3316 pullers.

After entering the full code number of the TP and TA buttons, press again simultaneously until the message appears on the display «SAFE». Release buttons. The receiver is now ready for use again, with the ignition key removed, the LED next to the radio name should flash.
Attention: If an incorrect code number is entered by mistake, the message «SAFE» will flash at first and then stop. After that, the entire process of entering the code number can be repeated once. If an incorrect code number is entered again, the radio will be blocked for approximately one hour and cannot be connected. After one hour has elapsed - the receiver must remain switched on - you can again attempt to unlock the electronic lock by entering the correct code number. This cycle will be repeated for all further attempts.
