When towing, turn on the ignition so that the steering wheel does not jam and you can use the turn signals, horn and, if necessary, the wipers. Since the brake booster only works when the engine is running, then in engines with a booster, when the engine is not running, you need to press harder on the brake pedal. In cars with power steering, you need to apply more force to the steering wheel, since when the engine is not running, the power steering does not work.
The towing rope must be elastic. Use only ropes made of artificial fibres or with elastic inserts.
If there is no oil in the gearbox, the car can only be towed with the front wheels raised.
Towing cars with automatic transmission
The gear selector lever must be in the "N" position.
Attention! Maximum towing speed: 50 km/h! Maximum towing range: 50 km!
When towing long distances, the front of the vehicle must be raised because when the engine is not running, the transmission oil pump does not operate, so the transmission does not receive sufficient lubrication at high speeds and long distances.
