Attention! If the main battery is removed, the entry in the engine control unit is erased. Devices in constant use (e.g. radio and clock) stop or their memory is erased. You must poll the memory before disconnecting. When connected, program the relevant devices again.
Some mass-produced radio receivers also have coding. The anti-theft code prevents unauthorized use of the device if the circuit is interrupted. The circuit can be interrupted, for example, by disconnecting the battery, removing the radio, or blowing a fuse.
If the radio is coded, write down the radio code before disconnecting the battery. If the code is unknown, then the radio can only be put into operation again at the service station.
