Electrically adjustable steering wheel position (VW Touareg 1)

The steering wheel can be continuously adjusted in height and angle.

Adjust the driver's seat correctly.

By pressing the button on the steering column (Fig. 1.92), set the steering wheel to the desired position.



Electrical adjustment of the steering column is only possible when the ignition is off.

WARNING: When driving, hold the steering wheel with both hands at your sides in the 9 and 15 o'clock positions. Never hold the steering wheel in the 12 o'clock position or in any other position (for example, for the middle). Otherwise, when the inflatable pillow opens, you risk getting injuries to your hands and head.

Manual steering wheel adjustment

The steering wheel can be continuously adjusted in height and angle.

Adjust the driver's seat correctly.

Fold lever 1 (Fig. 1.93) under the steering column down.



Set the steering wheel to the desired position.



Then firmly press lever 1 upwards again.

WARNING: Incorrect steering wheel and seat position can cause serious injury. To avoid dangerous situations, adjust the steering wheel position only when the vehicle is stationary.
