Removing
1. Remove the acoustic cover.
2. Drain engine oil.
3. Remove the fixing screws securing the oil pan to the gearbox.
4. Disconnect the 3-pin connector of the oil level and temperature sensor (G266): Loosen and tighten the oil pan screws using a 10 mm socket wrench.
5. Remove the oil pan. If necessary, separate the oil pan from the mounting point with light blows of a hammer with a rubber head.
6. Remove any remaining sealant on the cylinder block with a flat scraper.
7. Using a suitable tool, such as a plastic bristle drill bit, remove any remaining sealant from the oil pan mating surfaces (wear safety glasses).
8. Clean and degrease the mating surfaces. They should not leave traces of oil.
Installation
The oil pan must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the silicone sealant.
1. Cut off the tip of the sealant tube at the mark located on its end (hole diameter should be approximately 3 mm).
2. Apply silicone sealant as shown in the illustration to the clean mating surfaces of the oil pan. In this case, the sealant strip should be 2-3 mm thick.
Attention!
- In places of holes for fastening screws, sealant should be applied on the inside (arrows). The thickness of the sealant strip should not exceed the value indicated above, otherwise the sealant protruding from the joint will enter the oil pan and clog the oil receiver screen.
- In the places indicated by the arrows, the sealant strip should be applied especially carefully and in full accordance with the drawing.
After that, immediately install the oil pan and fix it with screws as follows.
1. Tighten all the screws securing the oil pan to the cylinder block, crosswise, with little or no force.
2. Lightly tighten the screws securing the oil pan to the gearbox.
3. Slightly tighten all the screws securing the oil pan to the cylinder block in a diagonal pattern.
4. Tighten the screws securing the oil pan to the gearbox to 25 Nm.
5. Tighten all screws securing the oil pan to the cylinder block crosswise to 15 Nm.
Attention!
- When installing the oil sump on a removed engine, pay special attention to ensure that the sump is flush with the cylinder block on the flywheel side (without making steps).
- After installing the oil pan, wait approximately 30 minutes for the sealant to dry. Only after that you can fill in engine oil.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
