  • General description of the braking system

The vehicle's service brake system consists of a master cylinder, disc or drum brakes on the front wheels, and drum brakes on the rear wheels. The braking system is dual-circuit, with diagonal division of the circuits. One brake circuit acts on the front right and rear left wheels, and the second on the front left and rear right wheels. Thanks to this, even if one of the circuits fails, the brakes of one front and one rear wheel work.

Brake fluid for the entire system is supplied to the master cylinder from a reservoir located at the front under the trunk lid.

The parking brake acts via a cable on the brake shoes of the rear wheels. It is adjusted at the front of the parking brake lever.

Caution! Cleaning brake discs and drums releases dust containing asbestos. This dust is hazardous to health. Therefore, when cleaning (especially when blowing) when using brakes, it is necessary to take measures to protect the respiratory system.

Caution! Work on the brake system requires extreme cleanliness and precision. If you have no experience with such work, you should entrust it to workshop specialists.
