Removing
With the ignition off, disconnect the ground wire from the battery (-).
Attention: Follow the instructions given in chapter «Removing and installing the battery».
Move the steering wheel down and fully pull it towards you.
Loosen the cover -1- and place it on the upper cover of the steering column switches -2-.
Note: Do not remove the steering wheel for this.
Remove 2 screws -arrows-.
Pull the instrument panel back slightly towards the seat.
If equipped, loosen the wire tie from the back of the instrument panel.
Press the locking plates of the plugs, disconnect the plug connectors from the back of the instrument panel and remove the instrument panel.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
If the instrument panel has been replaced, the service interval indicator must be aligned with the trip odometer (at the service station).
Switch on the ignition and check the operation of the signaling devices and indicators on the instrument panel.
IBIZA
Removing
With the ignition off, disconnect the ground wire from the battery (-).
Attention: Follow the instructions given in chapter «Removing and installing the battery».
Move the steering wheel down and fully pull it towards you.
Note: Do not remove the steering wheel.
Loosen the upper trim of the steering column in the places of recesses and pull it out of the latches by moving it upwards. Pull the cover forward.
Remove screws -1-, -2- and remove steering column top trim.
Using a plastic wedge, e.g. 1965-20, carefully release clips -3- and remove instrument panel frame.
To protect against damage, cover the edges of the dashboard with adhesive tape.
Unscrew screws -arrows- and pull instrument panel back slightly towards seat. Use a plastic wedge for this.
Unplug connectors at rear of instrument panel and carefully remove instrument panel.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Make sure that the locking hooks of the steering column upper trim fit correctly into the lower trim.
