The tire inflation pressure is set by the vehicle manufacturer depending on various parameters. Among others, such parameters are the vehicle load and its maximum speed. For VW POLO/SEAT IBIZ vehicles, the manufacturer allows various combinations of tire and rim sizes. The table below provides only a small list of possible tire and rim combinations. A full list of possible combinations can be obtained from a service station.

It is very important to maintain the prescribed inflation pressure in the tires. The prescribed inflation pressure of the tires is indicated on the sticker on the inside of the fuel filler cap. Inflation pressure is of great importance for both the service life of the tires and the safety of the vehicle. Therefore, the inflation pressure of the tires (including for the spare wheel)should be checked every 4 weeks and before every long trip.

Pressure data refers to cold tires. Higher excess pressure established during long journeys (by approximately 0.2-0.4 bar) there is no need to lower it. Tyres with a winter tread pattern usually have a pressure 0.2 bar higher than summer tyres. In any case, the inflation pressure of winter tyres must correspond to the prescribed values, which are regulated by their manufacturers. Since tyres with a winter tread pattern have a maximum speed limit, it is necessary to follow the instructions on the permissible speed in the driver's field of vision (§ 36, paragraph 1 of the Technical Requirements for the Operation of Non-Rail Transport - StVZO).

When operating a vehicle with a trailer, the tire inflation pressure should be increased to the values specified in the table in the "Full Load" column. It is also necessary to monitor the tire inflation pressure of the trailer.

The inflation pressure of the spare tire corresponds to the highest inflation pressure when fully loaded.
