Attention: Noises that occur when the seat belt is retracted are functionally caused. Never use oil or grease to eliminate noise. Do not disassemble the automatic retractor of the seat belts. Danger of accident!
Pull the seat belt fully out and check for broken fibers.
Damage can be caused, for example, by pinching the belt or melting it with a burning cigarette. In this case, replace the belt.
If there are scuffs without broken fibers, the belt does not need to be replaced.
If the belt is difficult to move, check that there is no twisting, if necessary, remove the lining from the B-pillar and route the belt correctly.
If the automatic seat belt retractor does not function, replace the belt.
Belt bands should only be cleaned with soap and water, never using solvents or chemical cleaners.
