1. Before disassembling the joint, use an electric needle to mark the position of the hub relative to the ball race and the joint housing (Fig. 9.40).

2. Remove the joint hub and ball race.

3. Remove the balls one by one.

4. Rotate the collar so that the rectangular windows (arrows) are adjacent to the hinge body (Fig. 9.41).

5. Remove the race together with the hub.

6. Insert the hub segment at an angle into the cage window (Fig. 9.42).

7. Remove the hub from the cage. All 6 balls of each joint are in the same tolerance category.



Installation



8. Press half the required amount of grease (55 grams) into the hinge housing.

9. Install the collar with the hub into the joint housing.

10. Press the balls one by one.

11. Install the new snap ring into the hub.

12. Fill the remaining grease into the boot.
