Checking fault codes with a VAG tester
Engine fault codes for the VAG tester are given in Table 3.8.
Decoding the fault code
For example, code 00522 035. The coolant temperature sensor is faulty: 00522 is the fault code, 035 is the fault type.
SAE P engine trouble codes
SAE P fault codes are shown in Table 3.9.
Decoding the fault code
For example, code 16502 P0118 035. The coolant temperature sensor is faulty: 16502 is the fault code, P0118 is the additional code, 035 is the fault type.
