To identify the maintenance conditions, check the vehicle PR number on the vehicle data sticker: QG1, OG0 or QG2. The PR number specifies service intervals.
To see the vehicle data sticker, open the cover (1) on the left side of the front panel.
The vehicle data sticker is located above the fuse box.
The designation of a vehicle with the following PR number QG1 means LongLife Service.
QG2 OR QG0 means service intervals based on mileage or time without mileage increase, as opposed to the LongLife regulation.
Service Type | Interval (3*) |
Oil change service | Every 30,000 km or after 2 years (whichever comes first), - according to the LongLife regulations |
Oil change service | Every 15,000 km or after 2 years (whichever comes first), - by mileage or by time intervals |
Inspection service with 2-year intervals (1*) And (2*) | Every 2 years |
Inspection service with 4-year intervals (1*) And (2*) | Every 4 years |
Brake Fluid Service (4*) | Every 2 years |
Notes:
* Without oil change service.
** The brake fluid change service is part of the inspection service.
*** According to the maintenance indicator or according to the service sticker «Your next service calls».
When replacing, take into account the specification of the brake fluid.
Note: in countries where diesel fuel with a higher sulfur content is used (does not apply to Germany), every 7500 km it is necessary to change the engine oil and fuel filter. A list of countries where high sulfur diesel fuel is used can be obtained from the importer.
Note: Vehicles manufactured since 2006 have their first brake fluid change service after 3 years, then every 2 years. The brake fluid change service is part of the inspection service.
List and frequency of maintenance work
Depending on the operating conditions and vehicle equipment, some additional work is also carried out if necessary.
Every 15,000 km
Checking the thickness of the brake pads of the front and rear brakes.
With a constant very high load on the brake system (e.g. work in mountainous areas, frequent trips with a full load, courier service) it is recommended to carry out a preventive check of the thickness of the front and rear disc brake pads no later than 15,000 km after the last service.
Every 30,000 km
Replacement of the fuel filter for diesel engines.
Every 30,000 km or 2 years (whichever comes first)
Checking the condition and tension of the V-ribbed belt for engines without an automatic tensioner.
Checking the condition and tension of the timing belt for dusty countries and for TDI and SDI engines under all conditions.
Every 60,000 km
Changing the oil and oil filter in a 6-speed double-clutch transmission type 02E for vehicles manufactured in 2006 and later.
Every 60,000 km or 2 years (whichever comes first)
Replacing the cabin ventilation system filter.
Every 60,000 km or 4 years (whichever comes first)
Replacement of spark plugs.
Checking the brake system for leaks - for cars manufactured before 2004.
First time at 90,000 km, then every 30,000 km
Checking the timing belt for the camshaft drive for 4-cylinder petrol engines 1.4 l / 59 kW and 1.6 l / 75 kW.
Every 90,000 km
Replacement of the fuel filter for diesel engines.
Every 90,000 km or 6 years (whichever comes first)
Cleaning the air filter housing with the replacement of the filter element.
Every 120,000 km
Replacing the timing belt for 4-cylinder TDI and SOI engines with unit injectors.
First time at 150,000 km, then every 30,000 km
Control of soot accumulation in the particulate filter - only for 4-cylinder TDI engines with unit injectors with code BLS (77 kW).
Every 240,000 km
Replacing the toothed belt tensioner - only for 4-cylinder TDI and 5DI engines with unit injectors.
