Maintenance should be performed at the following intervals:
  • Maintenance at extended intervals or at non-regulated intervals: The work indicated below by the symbol • must be carried out in accordance with the interval indicator.
  • Maintenance at specified intervals or when using engine oil that is not designed for long-term use: in accordance with the interval indicator. However, in any case, when servicing every 30,000 km or every 2 years, the work marked below with the symbol • must be performed.

Within the specified maintenance intervals, additional work marked with the ♦ symbol must also be carried out.

Caution: If you frequently drive in very dusty conditions, the replacement intervals for the engine air filter and the dust and pollen filter should be halved.


Engine


  • Engine/engine compartment: visual inspection of systems for leaks.
  • Engine: Replace engine oil and oil filter.
  • Cooling and heating systems: check the fluid level, check the concentration of antifreeze. Visually check the tightness and external contamination of the radiator.
  • Exhaust system: check for any damage, leaks, or loose fastenings.
  • Diesel engine when running on regular diesel fuel: remove water from the fuel filter.
  • Diesel engine when running on biofuel: replace the fuel filter.
  • 1.4L petrol engine: check the timing belt for damage and replace the belt if necessary (the first time after a run of 90,000 km, then every 30,000 km).




Gearbox/Main gear


  • Gearbox/final drive: visually inspect for leaks and damage.
  • Manual transmission/final drive: check oil level, top up if necessary.

Front axle/steering


  • Tie rod ends: check clearances and fastening, check dust caps.
  • Ball joints: Check dust caps.
  • Corrugated covers of cardan shafts: check for leaks and damage.

Brakes/tires/wheels


  • Brake system: check pipes, hoses and connections for leaks and damage.
  • Brake system: check and top up the brake fluid level if necessary.
  • Brake system: check the thickness of the front and rear brake linings.
  • Set of tires: check tread depth and tire pressure; check the tires for wear and damage (including spare tire).
  • Set of tires, including spare tire: check tire pressure.
  • Tire sealant TIREFIT: if available, check expiration date, replace sealant if necessary.

Body/interior equipment


  • Door travel limiter: lubricate the mounting pins.
  • Seat belts and airbag assemblies: Check for damage.
  • Sliding roof panel: clean guide rails and lubricate with special grease G00045002.
  • Anti-corrosion protection of the underbody: check for damage.
  • Ventilation/heating system: replace the replaceable element of the fine air filter, clean the filter housing.
  • First aid kit: check the expiration dates of the medications, replace the first aid kit if necessary.

Electrical equipment system


  • Headlights and taillights, direction indicators, hazard warning lights: check operation.
  • All electrical consumers/controls/indicators/interior lighting/horn: check operation.
  • Windscreen wiper blades: check the rubber bands of the wipers for wear. If the wipers rattle, check the installation angles of the wiper arms.
  • Windscreen washer system: check operation, check correct position of washer nozzles, top up washer fluid level, check headlight washer system.
  • Battery: check.
  • Service interval indicator: Reset to original position.
  • Self-diagnostic system: read registered fault codes (at service stations).
  • Headlights: check adjustment (at a service station).
