Checking the servo oil level (VW Transporter T3)

The hydraulic drive oil level should be checked every 30,000 km.

Start the engine and let it idle.



(825-354) Check the oil level in the equalizing tank with the wheels straight. The oil level should be between the MIN and MAX marks.

If the oil level has dropped to the MIN mark, add ATF-Dexron hydraulic oil. Add only new oil, as even small contaminants can cause malfunctions in the hydraulic system.

Finally, with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock many times, while the system is bleeding air.

If oil was added, check the hydraulic drive for leaks.
