Checking the piston protrusion at TDC (VW Polo 3)

The piston protrusion at TDC is made when installing a new piston (Fig. 7.5). Depending on the piston protrusion, the cylinder head gasket is installed (table 7.3).

Identification of the cylinder head gasket is shown in Fig. 7.6.

Holes/marks - arrow 2.

Caution! Depending on the piston protrusion, a gasket of different thickness may be installed. When replacing the cylinder head gasket, install a new gasket of the same identification.
