Checking incandescent lamps and fuses
Check and, if necessary, replace the brake light bulbs.
If the brake light bulbs are OK, check the brake light switch. When the brake pedal is depressed, the switch contact closes and the brake light should come on.
Checking the brake light switch
The switch is located in the footwell on the brake pedal bracket.
Turn on the ignition.
Disconnect plug connector from brake light switch. With a short auxiliary wire, make a jumper between both contacts of the plug removed from the switch. If the brake light comes on, the brake light switch is defective and should be replaced.
