The instrument cluster is equipped with a self-diagnostic system. Before removing it, it is necessary to read the fault codes using the VAG 1551 fault code reader or the VAG 1552 tester. 4 fault codes can be recorded simultaneously. Sporadic faults are deleted after 50 "driving cycles". A "driving cycle" means the ignition is on for at least 5 minutes and driving at a speed above 30 km/h.
