The driver's airbag is shown in Fig. 10.8.

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Loosen the steering column adjuster.
3. Set the steering wheel 1 with spokes in a vertical position (Fig. 10.9).
Fig. 10.9. Set the steering wheel 1 with its spokes in a vertical position. Insert a screwdriver into the hole on the back side of the steering wheel hub. Turn the screwdriver 90°, as a result of which the locking ring 2 should be removed from the groove in the steering wheel hub and the airbag should be released on one side.
4. Remove the steering column completely and set it to the lower position.
5. Insert a screwdriver with a blade width of 5 mm and a length of 55 mm into the hole on the back side of the steering wheel hub.
6. Turn the screwdriver 90', as a result of which the retaining ring 2 should be removed from the groove in the steering wheel hub and the airbag should be released on one side.
7. Turn the steering wheel back 180° and release the second locking tab on the opposite side.
8. Remove the airbag vertically.
9. Disconnect the wiring connector from the airbag.
Installation
10. Connect the wiring connector to the airbag.
11. Install the airbag in the installation position. Lock the airbag first in the horizontal direction, then in the vertical direction.
12. Secure the steering column adjuster.
13. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
